Messy play

This Sunday morning I found the moon sand in the cupboard i made last year and was pleasantly surprised it is still exactly how i left it when i put it away. Might need to top it up soon but it was still soft and fluffy and mouldable.

My girls of course didn’t remember it as it was quite a few months since we used it and had a absolute blast rediscovering the moon sand.3 4 26 1

Travel countdown

My daughters dont really have a sense of time yet therefore i always before a trip or a big day i do a count down calender for them. This will be the first roadtrip my eldest will actually remember now that she is 4.5yrs as the last time we did a roadtrip she was 2yrs old. Well my 1.5yr old is oblivious to it all she is just enjoying the actiities that goes with the count down calender.

I planned an activity for every day got colour-in images for each and printed it. so each day they will colour an activity.8

DIY piggy (cow) bank

A while ago with one of the kiddies meals at a restaurant we got this DIY piggy bank which is actually in a shape of a cow.  The girls were bored therefore i got it out and let them paint it. It came with its own paint and brush.

I’m definately keep these paint holders for future use. was nice to not have the girls fighting over sharing paints.

Craft Lampshades

I have been in decorating mode this last few weeks and was looking for something unique to add to each of my girls rooms. As we love crafts i wanted to incorporate our love for crafts but didnt want to do another canvas or non functional item. I wanted something that serves a purpose but still show the creativity. And then i cam across this lampshade post.

I had old lampshades that almost made the trash that day as i replaced it with new ones.beforeI decided to paint the stand white with craft paint. The brush gave the white paint a lovely stripy texture with i prefer over the smooth look. I had to give it about 4-5 coats to complete cover the very dark stand. then painted it with Modge Podge to seal it. The Modge gave it a nice glossy finish.

I then bought very inexpensive white lampshades made of a type of linen material. Gave them to my girls with some fabric paint to match their room decor and let their imaginations go wild.12 3 4 5 6Eldest Diva’s creation:Baby Diva’s creation:8We love the end result.and now my girls have a beautiful handmade craft in their rooms.

Popsicle sticks Bookmarks

This past week my diva is into Dr. Seuss books but its too long to finish the whole book in one bedtime story time so each night we read a few pages. We didn’t have any bookmarks so i decided this weekend we will make our own book marks.

I rounded up my craft box and see what we could use.1

My diva photo-bomb the picture. got to love her.

We used hot glue to stick the embellishments on the sticks. They show me where they want to stick it and i put a dab of hot glue down so that they can stick it. 2 3

and here are the end result.. Beautiful book marks.5 6

This one is little Divas bookmark. she choose everything herself to put on her bookmark i just guided here where to put it with putting the hot glue in place.4
